Another side by side shown the Light L16 vs DSLR battle – this time with a couple of quick sunset shots. Can you tell which is which before the big reveal?
The other day while working on the computer, I notice the sun was setting outside as the light coming thru the window was very orange… so I grabbed the Canon EOS 5D Mark IV and the Light L16 and tried as quickly as I could to match the settings (only to fail miserably).
I also quickly recorded (and poorly edited) this video showing the two images side by side.
It was interesting to realize how often I rely on the higher ISO of the Canon EOS 5D Mark IV as it has low noise thru many of the lower ISO settings.
It was also a lesson in frustration as I was setting the two cameras to ISO 100, f/15, and the same shutter speed. And it turns out that the Canon EOS 5D Mark IV had to be set at ISO 640 and still didn't come close to the amount of light coming in to the Light L16. In bright daylight, I can often set them almost exactly the same, but in this low light situation, it was impossible.
I also learned I need to re-watch my videos before I upload them LOL.
